On Saturday evening at the Ralph Klein Center the Ambrose Lions (9-7) outlasted the Olds College Broncos (6-9) by the score of 82-74.
The Broncos loss could be contributed to a poor shooting performance, making only 34% of their attempts from the field and just 8% of their three point opportunities.
Meanwhile the Lions made 11 of their 26 three point attempts, with Isaac Gray making four of them. Gray finished with 17 points while Nikola Ivanovic led the team with 18 points. Broncos point guard Linden Jackson finished with a game-high 27 points.
The Lions got the upper hand on the Broncos in a relatively evenly played first quarter. Isaac Gray's shooting was the difference for the Lions in the first frame, making both of his three point tries to take a 20-16 lead into the second.
The Broncos failed to get anything going offensively in the half, putting up a goose-egg from the three point line in the half on 12 attempts. Overall the Broncos shot 26% in the half, led by Linden Jackson who had eight points.
Meanwhile the Lions converted seven three-point tries in the first half and took a 48-30 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Lions had trouble covering Jackson in the quarter, as the American ended up with more free throws than the entire Lions team.
The Broncos went into the final quarter trailing just 62-54.
While the Broncos attempted to narrow the gap early in the final quarter, the Lions stuck right with them as the Broncos shooting woes continued.
