EDMONTON, AB (October 24, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Katharina Oeltermann, Felicia Rodney and Jewels Hallock of the Olds College Broncos have been selected to the 2019-20 ACAC Women's ACAC South All-Conference Team.
Katharina Oeltermann had a great year as second year defender and captain, for Olds College, where she was strong on both offense and defense. Oeltermann finished the season second on the Broncos with seven goals, which also tied her for 16th in the ACAC and sixth in the ACAC South. She also had two assists for 16 points. She also took 23 shots and had two game winning goals (seventh in the ACAC and fourth in the ACAC South). She was 2-for-2 on penalty kicks. This is an amazing feat for a defender.
Oeltermann is a 5-10 defender from Hannover, Germany. She is studying Sports Management and previously competed for TSV Limmer.
Felicia Rodney had an amazing year as second year forward for Olds College, ranking highly in several statistical categories. Despite missing two games midseason due to injury, Rodney ranked third in the ACAC in goals with 15 (tops in ACAC South), fourth in points with 32 (top in ACAC South), first in shots with 63 and seventh with two game winning goals (fourth in ACAC South). A highlight of the year for Rodney was an ACAC record tying seven goals against Red Deer College Oct. 13.
Rodney is a 5-5 forward from Calgary, AB. She is studying Sports Management and previously attended St. Francis High School and competed for Calgary Blizzards. This is the second year in a row that Rodney was an All-Conference Team member, also being named Rookie of the Year in 2018.
Hallock had a great year as rookie goaltender for Olds College, ranking highly in several statistical categories. Despite missing the final two games of the season due to injury, Hallock ranked second in the ACAC in save percentage with a .872 (top in ACAC South), sixth in goals against average with 1.50 (third in ACAC South), third in saves with 102 (2nd in South) and third with six wins (top in the South). She also had three shutouts this season (sixth in ACAC and third in ACAC South). She was also ranked fifth with 900 minutes played (top in ACAC South).
Jewels Hallock is a 5-8 goaltender from Sherwood Park, AB. She is studying Veterinary Medical Receptionist and previously attended Salisbury Composite High School and competed for FC Edmonton.
These awards were presented to Hallock, Rodney and Oeltermann at the 2019 ACAC Women's Soccer Championship Ceremony held on Thursday, Oct. 24 at NAIT.
