Broncos Men's Basketball Signs Pair of BC Guards

Olds, AB

The Olds College Broncos Men's Basketball program continued to add to their 2021-22 roster with the additions of two guards from British Columbia, Sina Hashemi and Gryphon Talbot.

Sina Hashemi comes to Olds College from nearby Prairie College where he competed in 2019-20 as part of the relaunch of their men's basketball program. While at Prairie, the 6'1" guard competed against ACAC, NCAA Division 2, 3, and NJCAA competition while putting together a strong statline averaging 10 points per game to go along with 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game. Prior to arriving at Prairie College, the Port Moody, BC native played his first year of college basketball at Langara College in Vancouver. "What Sina brings to the table first and foremost is leadership. On and off of the court, he will lead by example and make sure everyone in our program is held accountable, including himself," stated first year Head Coach Harrison Corolis. While at Olds College, Hashemi will be studying in the Sports Management program.

Gryphon Talbot arrives in central Alberta from Fort St. John, British Columbia where he attended North Peace Secondary School. While at NPSS, the 6'0" guard competed with the varsity basketball program where he averaged 17 points per game. "Gryphon is a great freshman addition to our veteran heavy roster as he brings his ability to stretch the floor as a shooter but also the skill level to create his own shot as a penetrator. In getting to know Gryphon I have no doubt he will thrive at Olds College and with our men's basketball program as he continues to develop his game," said Coach Corolis. While at Olds College, Talbot will be enrolled in the Business Management program.
