Broncos Athletes Shine in the ACAC, Earning 2025-26 All-Conference Honours
Following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, Broncos Athletics is highlighting three athletes who secured All-Conference honours in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC). Regardless of team records, each athlete distinguished themselves among the conference's top competitors and secured placement on the ACAC South All-Conference teams.
Earning All-Conference honours is a reflection of individual athletic excellence and consistent impact throughout the season. In the ACAC, All-Conference selections are made by the coaches across the league. The criteria coaches use for these selections is based on an athlete's performance, skill and contribution to the team within their position.
Brynn Smith, Women's Futsal
Captain of the women's futsal team, Brynn Smith, a second-year forward from Olds, was named to the ACAC South All-Conference Futsal Team after a standout season. Competing against an estimated 80 athletes in the South division, Smith secured her place at the top. To say that this is an accomplishment is an understatement. Smith was determined to make this season special and succeeded in doing so, leading the women's futsal team both on and off the court. Smith led the entire ACAC in scoring by a three goal margin with a total of 12 goals. Not only is Smith a standout goal scorer, but she is a dynamic playmaker for her teammates. Receiving All-Conference honours is an accomplishment that highlights Smith's consistent hard work, skill and determination.
Wesley Sadoski, Men's Futsal
First year goaltender, Wesley Sadoski, was the ACAC South All-Conference Goalkeeper. Only one goalkeeper from the South and North division are selected for their respective All-Conference Futsal Team, meaning Sadoski was the top goalkeeper in the entire South Division, a significant accomplishment. Sadoski travelled from his hometown of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil to compete in collegiate futsal and soccer with the Broncos and has been an influential presence for the men's futsal team all season. Sadoski recorded an impressive 148 saves while anchoring the team from the back. His "never say never" mindset in training, willingness to learn and openness to feedback set a strong example within the group, reflecting the growth mindset needed to succeed at the collegiate level. Throughout the season, Sadoski constantly improved, maintaining focus and professionalism while demonstrating strong character. His dedication and consistency in net made him a reliable backbone for the team. His All-Conference selection is a reflection of both his individual performance and commitment to the program.
Abby Manz, Women's Hockey
Women's Hockey forward, Abby Manz, was selected for the ACAC South All-Conference Second Team. The first year athlete from Regina, Sask. competed in all 25 ACAC league games of her introductory season. Manz finished with 18 points and quickly established herself as a consistent contributor to the Broncos. She demonstrated steady growth throughout the season and continued to elevate her game as the season progressed. Beyond her significant contributions on the ice, Manz also earned one of the most prestigious academic honours in the conference, being named the ACAC Women's Hockey Top Scholastic Award winner. This recognition highlights her ability to balance the demands of varsity athletics with exceptional academic performance, standing out both in the classroom, and on the ice. To top it off, Manz was additionally recognized as an Academic All-Canadian award winner. The recognition emphasizes the outstanding achievement in the field of collegiate sport in Alberta.
As the Broncos turn the page to the 2026-27 season, these honours set a strong foundation for continued growth. With a group of emerging talent and proven performers, the Broncos program looks to build on the momentum from this season.
