A close matchup sees Broncos Men’s Basketball losing by two
A very close game saw the Ambrose Lions winning over the Olds College Broncos with a score of 95-93 on Saturday, February 5,2022 at the Ralph Klein Centre.

A very close game saw the Ambrose Lions winning over the Olds College Broncos with a score of 95-93 on Saturday, February 5,2022 at the Ralph Klein Centre.
Linden Jackson has an excellent start scoring the first twelve points for Ambrose Lions. The Broncos caught up on the scoreboard with great ball movement and by finding the easy baskets. A fun matchup between the Lions Linden Jackson and the Broncos Adrian Deere.
Luke Baker from the Broncos ties the game to 28-28 with 1 minute remaining in the quarter. Lions take the lead back and the score is 32-28 leading into the next quarter.
Another very close quarter saw the Broncos Adrian Deere with a very strong start finally putting the Broncos in the lead. Isaac Amsing for the Lions stepped up exploring the paint and made his way to the free throw line. The Broncos played great defense on the last possession to finish the first half leading 55-51 over the Lions.
Lions struggling on offense early in the third quarter and Broncos taking advantage of that forcing turnovers. Fantastic play by Adrian Deere and Nathan Calkins to increase the Broncos lead to 10 points. A time out called by the Lions allowed them to regroup and hit some quick threes and forcing turnovers. Low scoring for the Broncos early in the quarter allowed the Lions to go on a 20 point run. Broncos Bounced back near the end with a few fast breaks and Tyreik Lennox hitting a buzzer beater to end the quarter 73-70 for the Lions.
At the start of the last quarter both teams exchanged points. Both Adrian Deere and Isaac Amsing are impactful players offensively for their respective teams. The Lions took advantage of the scoreboard and led 93-87 with three minutes left on the clock. The Broncos number 23, Austin Nzige- Nyambok with a big block followed by a great jump shot on the other end of the court made it a two point game. The Broncos worked hard to tighten the gap, seeing Luke Baker tying the score 93-93. Lions Isaac Gray scored a nice jump shot taking the Lions to 95 points. With 5 seconds left on the clock and Broncos in possession the team tries to make a move that will allow them to tie the game, but are ultimately unsuccessful.
