RDP Kings won by Five over Broncos Men’s Basketball
A very close game saw the RDP Kings winning over the Olds College Broncos with a score of 90-85 on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Ralph Klein Centre.

A very close game saw the RDP Kings winning over the Olds College Broncos with a score of 90-85 on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Ralph Klein Centre.
The Olds COllege Broncos had a very strong first half with great passing, scoring and consistent teamwork. Nathan Calkins had a great scoring start with 13 combined points in the half. RDP's Tyronn King led the Kings with 19 points. Kevin Szymanek, Payton Baltzer and Eduardo Crespo were also strong contributors to the Kings both scoring and rebounding. The Broncos Mobin Ali, Tyreik Lennox, Adrian Deere and Nick Mckee all worked hard to keep the edge over the Kings. At the end of the first quarter Broncos were up 24-13 and by the end of the second quarter were up 48- 35.
Going into the third quarter the Broncos started slower than they'd shown earlier in the night. They didn't see as many scoring opportunities, however Adrian Deere was able to find the net and score 14 points. The team over all wasn't working as strongly together and this allowed the Kings to start closing the scoring gap. At the end of the quarter 66-62 for the Broncos.
The fourth and final quarter was fast and furious seeing most of the action in the last minutes of the game. The Kings were able to tie it up and take the lead . In the fourth quarter alone, Tyronn King scored 15 points contributing to the Kings 28 points in the quarter. Eduardo Crespo also had a strong showing for the Kings in the final minutes of play. After some fouls near the end the Broncos were not able to recover and ultimately fell to the Kings.
The player of the game for the RDP Kings was number 5, Tyronn King and the player of the game for the Broncos was number 12, Nathan Calkins. Broncos Athletics also recognized three graduating student-athletes at the end of tonight's game. Tonight was the last regular season home game for the Broncos but you can catch them on the road next weekend as they travel to Briercrest.
