New tandem in the Broncos net for 2020-21

Olds College Broncos women's hockey head coach Chris Leeming has been busy over the winter months with recruitment as the program has seen key players graduate from Olds College, including team captain Kali Cummings and goaltending tandem Tori Eilers and Lexi Bruce. Leeming has been working hard to sign key players for this upcoming season to join the strong core of returning student-athletes and more releases on addition signings will be distributed in upcoming months.

In this, the second release, we will introduce you to the new tandem in net for the women's hockey team this fall.

Here's what you need to know about these recruits:

Elizabeth Campbell: Goalie, 5' 8"

Hometown: Black Diamond, AB

2019/20 club: Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs AAA

Academic Program: Sports Management (Business)

Personal Accolades:
Bronze medalist at the 2019 track and field provincials for discus

2019-20 stats:
14 games played, 0.870 save percentage, 4.01 goals against average

Why did you choose Olds College: "I'm really excited to be a part of such a small town and community and be a part of the Broncos family while playing the sport I love."

Head Coach Chris Leeming's analysis: "Elizabeth brings a high level of athleticism and compete to our team for next season. She has developed significantly over the past few seasons, which is a testament to her determination and drive to improve, which is something that we focus on daily here."

Cheyenne Jamieson: Goalie, 5' 4"

Hometown: Moosomin, SK

2019/20 club: Swift Current Wildcats

Academic Program: Agricultural Management

Personal Accolades:
Two-time Provincial Champion and Western Canada Silver medalist for Softball

2019-20 stats:
15 wins, seven losses, one shutout, 2.41 goals against average, 0.903 save percentage

Why did you choose Olds College: "I have always wanted to be a college athlete and I have a strong interest in agriculture. Becoming a Bronco allows me the opportunity to achieve both of these goals."

Head Coach Chris Leeming's analysis: "We are excited for Cheyenne to join our program because her academics and athletics align perfectly to produce an excellent fit for both our team and her personal goals. Additionally, Cheyenne brings with her a high level of athleticism and competitiveness as a multi-sport athlete, which lends itself to her position as a goalie very well."
